Daramola Adebukola Yewande conducts research on socio-economic outcomes of transportation and urban planning issues. She has a passion for bridging gaps in research and policy spaces and thus engages in public policy analysis and decision support on a range of socio-economic issues. She holds a PhD in Geography from University of Ibadan (2012) and serves as an associate lecturer on the Master of Research and Public Policy (MRPP) program, University of Ibadan. She completed a Microprogram in Policy Impact Analysis (Université Laval, Quebec, Canada) in 2018. Current research interests center on overland transport sector reform for socio-economic gains in Nigeria and on commercial motorcycle operations’ links to brain drain and brain waste in Nigeria’s informal sector. She has received travel grants to participate in a number of conferences including UNU-WIDER conference on Climate Change and Development Policy (Helsinki, 2012) and AERC seminar on China-Africa Infrastructure Cooperation (Nairobi, 2018). Adebukola participated in developing the Human Security Index (HSI) for Nigeria, results of which were published in the National Human Development Report (2016) by the UNDP. She provided technical support for implementation of Nigeria’s current medium term plan- ERGP at the ERGP Focus (Policy) Laboratories in 2018. She also provided embedded technical support (towards enhanced capabilities for policy analysis and policy coordination) to the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (OSGF), Nigeria in 2019. Adebukola was sector expert for infrastructure on Review and Finalization of Medium Term Sector Strategy: 2019-2021 for State of Osun. She has also been involved in Corporate Strategy articulation, including NISER Medium Term Strategic Plan (2018-2023). She engages in mentoring support through supervision and capabilities enhancement for graduate/undergraduate interns and younger Research Fellows in NISER.
