Iffat Jahan Antara joined BIGD in 2020 as a Research Associate in the Gender and Social Transformation Cluster. She is working on the Sustaining Power for Women’s Rights (SuPWR) research project. The main goal of the project is to investigate when, how and why South Asian Women’s power struggles have withstood backlash and succeeded in holding onto their rights. Prior to joining BIGD, she worked as National Consultant for UN Women to develop and adapt training module to Combat Gender Based Violence. She also worked with Naripokkho as a Project Officer from 2015 to 2017 and helped the team implementing action research and advocacy for ensuring sexual and reproductive health and rights of women and adolescents from local to regional level. She completed my Masters and Bachelor from Department of Women and Gender Studies, University of Dhaka. Currently she is completing my professional degree “Professional Development Programme for Gender Trainers” from KIT- Royal Tropical Institute, Netherlands. Her research interest includes Gender and Sexuality, Gender based Violence, Women’s Economic Empowerment and Women’s Movement.
