Iffat Zahan joined BIGD in October 2015. She is currently working as Research Associate in the Research Policy and Governance (RPG) team. She has worked in one of the projects of Anti-Corruption Evidence (ACE) and SOAS university consortium. She was engaged in institute’s flagship research publications State of Cities and State of Governance respectively in 2017 and 2016. She was involved with a project titled “Researching the impact of manager characteristics in bureaucracies” in collaboration with International Growth Centre (IGC).
Prior to joining BIGD, she worked in Department of Economics and Social Science at BRAC University as a Research Assistant on a project about youth unemployment funded by RAND Corporation. She also worked as Research Associate in Bangladesh Institute of Social Research Trust (BISR) where she worked on “Assessment of informal sector of the EU-Corporate Social Responsibility Project” funded by Save the Children and on “Final Evaluation of REAP II Project” of Winrock International funded by USDA. She was an Intern for Training and Development Department of JAAGO Foundation where her responsibilities included facilitation of workshops and trainings, and preparation of associated materials and contents for websites. She holds a Master’s degree in Economics from North South University and Bachelor’s degree in Economics from BRAC University.
