Julia Pomares is Executive Director of the Center for the Implementation of Public Policies for Equity and Growth (CIPPEC-Argentina) since 2015. Pomares served as policy adviser in the United Kingdom and was in charge of the monitoring and evaluation of the electoral decentralization in Guatemala. She has a PhD in Political Science and a Master's in Comparative Politics and Research Methods from the London School of Economics and Political Science. In the City of Buenos Aires, she supervised and evaluated the implementation of the first electronic voting pilot. Julia is firmly committed to promoting gender equality and narrowing gender gaps in the labor market. As part of this engagement, she has co-founded "Agenda X la Igualdad”, an initiative aim at  boosting sinergies among female corporate, union and academic leaders to tackle gender economic inequities.

Moreover, Pomares participates in many international councils such as the Global Future Council (World Economic Forum) where she is consulted to help shape the New Agenda for Equity and Social Justice.

As executive director of CIPPEC, she makes sure the institution's agenda has a gender perspective - not only by fostering research on gender-related topics but also by implementing protocols to adress gender-based violence in the work place and promote a respectful and egalitarian professional atmosphere.
