Kabita Chowdhury has been working as Senior Program Associate at BIGD (former BDI) from April 2007 till date. Her main focus is on qualitative research, which includes contribution to developing research plan, contributing to development of qualitative research tools (guidelines for case studies, KII, FGD, social and institutional mapping), training qualitative team, conducting field research, transcription and preliminary reporting. She is also involved in quantitative research including questionnaire development, training manual development, conducting training, over all supervision of survey, problem solving, ensuring transition into data entry and cleaning. She has been providing extensive documentation, communication, operational and administrative support to the projects she is involved in and was also involved in documentary video filming team.
Prior to BIGD she has been involved in research since 1989, working mostly with Bangladesh Institute of Development Studies (BIDS) and in partnership with Population Council, Save the Children Fund and local NGOs such as UBINIG and Nagorik Uddyog.
Kabita Chowdhury has a Master’s Degree in Islamic History and Culture, from University of Dhaka. She received training on SPSS, Proposal writing, Research Methodology, and Participatory Video.
