Sociologist at the Pontifical Catholic University of Peru. She graduated in Depth Studies in History and Civilization from the School of Higher Studies in Social Sciences in Paris. She has been director of the Center for Peasant Studies and Promotion of Piura (CIPCA) for 7 years. . She has served as a researcher and deputy director of the Bartolomé de las Casas Center in Cusco for 17 years. She has worked on issues of economic and political history; on rural societies, rural development and decentralization. Currently, she is a Principal Investigator at the Institute of Peruvian Studies.
