Webinar
Date: 27.9.2019
Time: 10:00 – 11:00 AM CST
Speakers: Werner Hernani-Limarino and Lorena Alcázar
Facilitator: Paula Pino
Event organizers: GRADE, ARU Foundation and Southern Voice
Our presentations will share a profile of the left behind in SDG 4 (Access to Quality Education) and SDG 8 (Access to Decent Work) in Peru and Bolivia and the synergies between these two SDGs. Then we will look at the lessons that can be drawn from these two cases for other, similar societies. We believe that the two case studies can shed light on the heterogeneity of results to SDG implementation and the realities of those left behind around the world.
The webinar will explore 4 questions:
- What does “being left behind in education” mean? Who are the left behind in the cases of Bolivia and Peru?
- What does “being left behind in employment” mean? Who are the left behind in the cases of Bolivia and Peru?
- Does “being left behind in education” automatically translate into “being left behind in employment? What are the experiences of Bolivia and Peru?
- What can countries do to be/keep “on track” to achieve SDG4 and SDG8? What lessons can we draw from the experiences of Bolivia and Peru?
Our studies contribute to a new definition of youth labour vulnerability: those accessing precarious and poorly paid jobs. This event is part of Global Goals Week. Register by clicking the button:
