The 3rd Southern Voice Research Conference starts today. This edition will be entirely virtual, making it possible for anyone interested anywhere in the world to join.

Titled “Shaping an equitable post-COVID world: the role of Global South think tanks”, we will host sessions over three days (9-11 November), led by member think tanks of the network. They will look at a variety of issues impacted by the pandemic.

While challenges persist in the Global North, the situation is much direr in the Global South. Most countries continue to face the aftershock of the pandemic, both in the health sector and financially.

Under these circumstances, Southern scholars play a critical role in refocusing the debates on the policy alternatives for an equitable recovery from this crisis on a national, regional and global level. The goal is to contribute to the 2030 Agenda Decade of Action and propose new global priorities to counter the unequal progress across the SDGs.

The conference will harness the collective knowledge of our vast network of Southern scholars, charting a path towards a post-COVID-19 recovery that leaves no one behind.

Sessions will look at a diversity of topics, such as:

And last but not least: Young think-tankers will discuss paths to achieving a sustainable and just future.

We invite you to explore the conference schedule and sign up for all the sessions of your interest here. All panels will be hosted on zoom (available in EN/FR/ES).

Mark your calendars for 9-11 November! And join the conversation on social media using #SouthernPerspectives!
