The Compass: Voices From the Global South

About the initiative

The Compass: Voices from the Global South is Southern Voice’s brand-new vodcast series, bringing together voices from across regions to unpack narrative power, challenge dominant perspectives, and rethink how global development is understood. The vodcast is a communications-led initiative developed to enhance Southern Voice’s visibility and to extend engagement with global audiences. By creating an open space for dialogue, The Compass allows members to speak freely and to reflect on their work, experiences, and opinions on pressing development issues.

Filmed during Southern Voice’s conference in São Paulo in October 2025, the vodcast focuses on a key theme: Narrative Power. It has five episodes, each lasting 15 to 20 minutes, featuring intimate, interview-style conversations between two members from different regions.
