Research conducted by Southern Voice teams during the pandemic identifies a number of threats to the full and equal digital participation of women and girls across the Global South.
On the occasion of the 67th Session of the Commission on the Status of Women (CSW), we will gather stakeholders to work collaboratively on a set of principles that ensure that the Global Digital Compact serves women and girls across regions.
The aim of the event is to formulate principles that guide the drafting of a gender-inclusive Global Digital Compact.
This session has three key objectives:
- Highlight emerging knowledge from the Global South that can inform debates on the Global Digital Compact, particularly from the lived experiences of women and girls.
- Foster a dynamic dialogue among diverse actors on how to ensure that the Global Digital Compact incorporates these priorities.
- Present concrete proposals for how the Global Digital Compact can serve women and girls, particularly in the Global South.
The event will convene those involved in the development, regulation, delivery and use of digital services and technologies.
The panelists are:
- H.E. Ms. Anna Karin Enneström (Sweden)
- Dr Rose Ngugi – Chair of Southern Voice, Executive Director of KIPPRA (Kenya)
