The inaugural season of The Compass examines how the Global South can strengthen ownership over knowledge production, and how to reshape dominant global narratives. Across its five episodes, the series explores critical questions around who controls development narratives, how data and evidence are valued, and what it takes to ensure Southern perspectives are not only included, but lead. Featuring cross-regional dialogues, each episode highlights both shared challenges and context-specific insights, reinforcing the diversity and interconnectedness of the Southern Voice network.
This three-day workshop in Nairobi brought together think tanks, funders, and policymakers to strengthen the resilience and sustainability of Global South research institutions. Southern Voice has launched the Resilience and Sustainability Self-Assessment Tool under its Strengthening Think Tanks Project. Designed for think tanks in the Global South, the tool helps organisations assess resilience, sustainability, and policy influence across six core pillars, strengthening institutional performance and advancing more inclusive research systems.
In October 2025, Southern Voice convened its global network in São Paulo to reimagine the global development architecture. At a critical moment for the SDGs, the conference created space to address power asymmetries, strengthen Global South perspectives, and advance more representative and effective multilateral decision-making.
As we conclude a momentous year, we reflect on the strength of this community and our shared progress. Guided by our strategic implementation plan, we advanced global debates, tackled knowledge asymmetries, and reached new milestones through initiatives like the Challenge Fund for Evidence Use and our 2025 Conference.
