Forum of the Countries of Latin America and the Caribbean on Sustainable Development 2019

Southern Voice, the United Nations Foundation and Espacio Público have the pleasure to invite you to a panel on the ties between Sustainable Development Goal 8 (decent employment) and SDG 4 (quality education) and its implications in Latin America. These two goals are part of this year’s High-Level Policy Forum (HLPF) 2019 review.
We will present the findings on the mismatch between the education system and the labour market in two countries: Bolivia (ARU Foundation) and Peru (GRADE). These two research projects are part of Southern Voice’s ‘State of the SDGs’ initiative. Espacio Público will be presenting the findings of its project on youth, study and employment in Latin America and the Caribbean.
All presentations will focus on the importance of achieving quality education and how it can lead to better employment opportunities in the region.

Foro de los Países de América Latina y el Caribe sobre el Desarrollo Sostenible

Southern Voice, la Fundación de Naciones Unidas y Espacio Público tienen el agrado de invitar a un panel para visibilizar y discutir los vínculos entre educación (ODS 4) y trabajo decente (ODS 8) y sus implicaciones en América Latina. Estos dos objetivos son parte de la evaluación del Foro Político de Alto Nivel sobre Desarrollo Sostenible 2019.
Se presentarán los hallazgos de dos investigaciones sobre brechas educativas y mercados laborales en Bolivia (Fundación ARU) y Perú (GRADE). Estas investigaciones se llevan a cabo en el marco del proyecto ‘State of the SDGs’ de Southern Voice.
También se presentará los hallazgos del proyecto sobre juventud, estudio y empleo en América Latina y el Caribe de Espacio Público. Las presentaciones se enfocarán en la importancia de lograr una educación de calidad que se traduzca en mejores oportunidades laborales.
En base a la evidencia y los datos de las investigaciones realizadas se abrirá una discusión sobre cómo maximizar las sinergias entre educación de calidad y pleno empleo en la región.
