Southern Voice Network members CPD (Bangladesh) and IPS (Sri Lanka) will present the findings and recommendations of a new study to an international audience.
The research looks into the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on both countries’ apparel sectors, and offers recommendations to support their recovery. It was conducted as part of a Southern Voice initiative on responses to local issues caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, and previously presented to local stakeholders in Bangladesh and Sri Lanka.
Following a presentation of the findings, a panel will discuss the proposed steps, before the floor is opened to the public for questions. The panel includes representatives from both countries, and from the International Labour Organisation (ILO) and brands such as H&M.
The event will be live streamed on both think tanks’ Facebook pages (CPD / IPS)
