• SV joins the consortium to prepare the European Report on Development (ERD)

Southern Voice on Post-MDG International Development Goals is part of the research consortium which has been awarded the contract for the preparation of the European Report on Development (ERD)-2014. The other members of the consortium are Overseas Development Institute (ODI), European Centre for Development Policy Management (ECDPM), Deutsches Institut für Entwicklungspolitik (DIE) and University of Athens. The report will focus on “Financing and other means of implementation in the Post-2015 Context.” The country level studies and consultations for the report will be conducted by the member think tanks of the Southern Voice network.

• SV Focal Point wins FES training award

The focal point of Southern Voice on Post-MDG International Development Goals Secretariat and Research Associate, Centre for Policy Dialogue (CPD), Mahenaw Ummul Wara, has won a competition organised by Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung (FES). The theme of the training is “How to Make Best Use of UN Capacities” for the young international policy analysts which is going to take place on 9-16 November, 2013 in New York. The training will provide the participants with the opportunity to obtain in-depth knowledge of the capacities of the UN to deal with policy issues that are also relevant to their respective works. Upon return to their home country, participants will act as multipliers and as intermediating experts for the policy making process and the UN in New York.
