As 2022 comes to a close, we take this opportunity to reflect on the extensive work we did this year to further southern perspectives.

Southern Voice had the honour to be invited by the office of the UN Secretary-General to contribute to the “Our Common Agenda” report. The network successfully contributed recommendations on the future of work, multilateral systems, vaccine equity, energy access, and public information. You can find all the policy briefs here.

Our network also researched how the pandemic affected existing governance trends and systems worldwide, particularly in the Global South. The result is a series of outstanding reports looking at trends in various regions.

Three teams from three regions looked at the digitalisation of public service delivery in the Global South during the pandemic and what it means for vulnerable populations. The result can be read here.

We are excited to launch the Basic Care Basket indicator video (2 min). This new tool will make it possible to estimate the costs of producing quality care.

In other exciting news: the second edition of our flagship Initiative “The State of the SDGs” will be ready in 2023. This edition will focus on inequality in the Global South. Click here for more insight.
