Tackling vulnerabilities and leveraging scarce resources
October 21 & 23, 2020 – 15h00–16h30 (CET)
Southern Voice is collaborating with the OECD Development Centre, the Foundation for studies and Research on International Development (FERDI), the UN Office of the High Representative for the Least Developed Countries, Landlocked Developing Countries and Small Island Developing States (UN-OHRLLS) and other partners for this two-day online event (click the link to see the full agenda).
The aim of this event is to contribute to the LDC5. We will be discussing with experts and policymakers how to ensure LDCs can overcome the crisis caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. We see this as an opportunity to build a line of work on research and policy dialogue on the LDC process, and its conference in Qatar in 2022.
Don’t miss the intervention by the Executive Director of our Uganda-based member the Economic Policy Research Center (EPRC), Sarah Ssewanyana on Day 2. She will be taking part in a discussion moderated by our Chair, Debapriya Bhattacharya.
The conference also will involve the following high-level speakers:
- Mr Angel Gurría, OECD Secretary-General;
- Ms Fekitamoeloa Katoa ‘Utoikamanu, UN-OHRLLS High Representative and Under-Secretary-General;
- Patricia Scotland, Secretary-General of the Commonwealth.
You can register here. Please ensure that you register for both days separately if you intend to attend the entire conference.
