The 1 for 8 Billion Campaign is proud to welcome five new campaign partners from the Global South, namely from Argentina, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Tanzania and Tunisia. Our partner organisations bring a diverse range of expertise and are crucial to advancing our campaign goals by mobilizing stakeholders and facilitating local and regional discussions. Their collaboration is vital for ensuring that voices from across the globe can contribute to shaping the UN Secretary-General’s selection process in 2026.
All five organisations are members of the Southern Voice network. They were approached as a result of our partnership with Southern Voice and due to their work on governance issues, excellent advocacy experience and because they work in states that are yet to announce their position on a feminist woman UN Secretary-General candidate.

SDPI:
The Sustainable Development Policy Institute (SDPI) in Pakistan produces knowledge that can enhance the capacity of government to make informed policy decisions, and to engage civil society on issues of public interest. The Institute generates original research on sustainable development issues and serves as an information resource for individuals and institutions concerned. SDPI’s function is thus two-fold: an advisory role fulfilled through research, policy advice, and advocacy, and an enabling role realized by providing other individuals and organizations with resource materials and training.
