The majority of Asian countries have taken concrete steps to establish national frameworks to implement the SDGs.
Young Think Tankers from the Southern Voice network had a virtual meeting with the UN Next Generation Fellows to discuss upcoming policy briefs. Four young scholars from Brazil (Gabrielle Alves, Plataforma CIPÓ), Nigeria (Tikristini Olasode, CSEA), Uganda (Regean Mugume, EPRC) and Sri Lanka (Nimesha Dissanayaka, IPS) presented their current research on sustainable agriculture, environmental justice, youth unemployment and shaping the future in the Global South. The session gave them an opportunity to get feedback and input from the Next Generation Fellows, as well as to strategize on joint actions. The four policy briefs aim to inform the Summit of the Future and will be published in 2023.
