Southern Voice welcomes three new members to our Steering Committee, each representing Africa, Asia, and Latin America and the Caribbean. These appointments, made during Southern Voice’s General Assembly on February 6th, strengthen our commitment to diverse regional perspectives. Join us in meeting the newest leaders shaping our network’s future:
- Nouzha Chekrouni is a Senior Fellow at the Policy Center for the New South (PCNS) from Morocco. She has extensive experience in academia, diplomacy, and political leadership, including serving as His Majesty’s Ambassador to Canada between 2009-2016. Her experience also includes being Minister for the Moroccan Community Living Abroad (2002-2007), a Member of Parliament (2002-2007), and the Minister for Women and Social Issues (1998-2002). She joins the Southern Voice Steering Committee as a representative of Africa.
- Anton Rizki is the CEO of the Centre for Indonesian Policy Studies (CIPS) from Indonesia. He has previously served as managing director of consulting companies and as head of communications in the agro-food sector. His expertise includes public policy, public affairs, stakeholder engagement, corporate responsibility, and sustainability. He joins the Southern Voice Steering Committee as a representative of Asia.
- Fernando Masi is the founder and Senior Researcher of Centro de Análisis y Difusión de la Economía Paraguaya (CADEP) from Paraguay. He has previously worked as Lead Adviser of the Ministry of Industry and Commerce of Paraguay, as well as Lead Adviser of the Ministry of Finance of Paraguay. His expertise includes economics, trade, and international relations. He joins the Southern Voice Steering Committee as a representative of Latin America and the Caribbean.
Their insights and dedication will play a vital role in shaping the future of our network as Southern Voice enters a new chapter of governance growth and development.
We also extend our heartfelt gratitude to our outgoing members: Dr. Gala Díaz-Langou of CIPPEC (outgoing Latin America representative), Dr. Vaqar Ahmed of Sustainable Development Policy Institute (outgoing Asia representative), and Dr. Chukwuka Onyekwena of Centre for the Study of the Economies of Africa (outgoing Africa representative).
